Organizational
security
is
at a
turning
point.
Enterprises
preside
over
increasingly
large,
sprawling
IT
infrastructures
dotted
with
countless
devices,
systems
and
applications
that
have
windows
and
doors
onto the
wider
infrastructure.
Long gone are the days when you could erect a secure perimeter around your organization and be reasonably confident of keeping most threats at bay.
In this paper we examine how the threat landscape has changed and how IT security is evolving in response. The industry is at the beginning of a fundamental shift towards the use of big data analysis and artificial intelligence in a bid to shore up organizations’ defences against increasingly numerous, stealthy and targeted attacks. We look at why and how this shift is occurring, and the steps organizations need to take to transform their own operations.
